demonstrable experience in product design; from concept, through to detail design, to scale-up and volume manufacturing

degree level mechanical engineering or similar

sound mechanical knowledge and experience of both mechanism layout

excellent knowledge of mechanical engineering and real-world experience in areas such as fluidics, dynamics, control systems, materials and thermodynamics

strong analytical, practical and creative skills.

e.g. Development Engineer
The main focus of your work will be development engineering; you will be expected to contribute more broadly to the overall product creation process, interacting closely with our research, marketing and manufacturing teams. Given close collaboration between groups, the development opportunities for suitable candidates are significant. Good team working and communication skills are essential to the success of the company and work-excellence and integrity are expected at all levels. They are looking for self-motivated people who can operate to a brief but with little supervision. As a member of the technical team you will be encouraged to participate in company meetings and conference calls where your opinion will be heard and valued. As a team member you would be responsible for carrying out your specific project tasks within the timescales and budgets agreed with the technical director. Essential requirements * Good academic background * Experience as a Development Engineer or Product Development Engineer * Minimum 3 years of commercial experience * "Hands-on" approach to understanding and solving engineering problems. * Experience in 3D CAD and associated processes. (The company uses SolidWorks.) * Ability to manage and lead development projects.
