Medical Devices

The use of
electronics is now extremely widespread
in the medical device industry, and we
have a variety of positions in diverse
companies.
Skills required include:
knowledge of
sensors and actuators, low-noise design
techniques, analogue modelling tools,
signal integrity, power supply basics,
EMC, and a good grasp of both theory and
practical lab work.
opto-electronic sensing systems;
analogue to digital and digital to
analogue conversion techniques; signal
processing using FPGAs, DSPs and general
purpose microcontrollers; control of
motors and actuators; implementing IEC
60601 requirements; power supply design;
product architectural design; design for
manufacture; interface between hardware
and software.
